H. Burton Embry is the Executive Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer for Primary Residential
Mortgage, Inc. Burton is responsible for the company’s Enterprise Risk Management Group which consists
of compliance, quality assurance, licensing, risk management, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, and fair
lending. Burton has more than 35 years in the financial and mortgage banking industry with more than
30 of those years focusing on mortgage compliance and quality assurance matters. He is a nationally-recognized compliance leader in the mortgage industry and has served as a regulatory compliance
executive for leading mortgage lending companies such as GE Capital Mortgage, Banc One Financial
Services, NationsCredit, and Franklin American Mortgage Company. Burton is an active member of the
Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Legal Issues and Regulatory Compliance Committee, and he served
as the Chair of the Regulatory Compliance Subcommittee (2013-2015). He is also an active member of
the MBA State Legislative and Regulatory Committee and the MBA Quality Assurance subcommittee, and
is Co-Chair of the Mortgage Quality and Compliance Committee of the California Mortgage Bankers Association. He is a member
of the Mortgage Compliance Magazine Advisory Board and serves on the magazine’s “Ask the Experts” panel. He frequently
speaks at meetings and conferences about loan officer compensation, marketing services agreements, licensing matters, and
state and CFPB examination practices and developments as well as other general compliance matters. Burton studied Business
Administration at Brescia University.
Felecia Bowers serves as the Compliance Manager for Homeowners Financial Group in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Her compliance career spans 35+ years starting with a position with the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance
Corporation (FSLIC) and the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) in the 1980’s. Previously, she served 15 years
as the SVP and Compliance Officer for Placer Sierra Bank before it was acquired by Wells Fargo & Company.
At Sierra, Felecia was in charge of compliance, Community Reinvestment Act, quality control, and secondary
marketing, including the development of the bank’s pricing and hedging model and selling residential and SBA
loans on the secondary market. She also served as the Chief Compliance Officer for Sierra Pacific Mortgage
where her responsibilities included regulatory compliance, licensing, third party vendor management, state and
regulatory exams, internal audit, and training. She managed the Human Resources Department there for five
years. She is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) via the Institute of Certified Bankers since 1993, and she holds a
HUD certification as a Direct Endorsement Underwriter.

Ben Slayton is a shareholder and the Executive Vice President and the Enterprise Risk Officer for Alterra
Group, LLC, dba Alterra Home Loans and is responsible for risk management of the entire enterprise.
Previously, he was the Chief Compliance Officer for Alterra Home Loans. Ben is the publisher of Mortgage
Compliance Magazine and Mortgage WOMEN Magazine. Ben is a true serial entrepreneur, who has
extensive experience creating and developing financial services-related businesses and selling them to
publicly traded companies over his past 52 years in the industry. The last company he built from scratch
was Quality Control Management Assurance Corporation (QC-MAC), a compliance and quality assurance
vendor company that he grew into one of the largest compliance/quality assurance vendor company in
the country. Ben started his financial industry career in the early sixties, when he became the first black
REALTOR® in the country, the first black member of the board of directors of the California Association
of REALTORS® (CAR), the first black president of a Rotary International Club in the United States, the first
black condominium developer in the State of California, and the first Freddie Mac Multifamily Program Plus Seller/Servicer in the
country. Ben holds a B.A. in Business/Corporate Communications at University of California at Los Angeles.
Lisa Klika is the Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Vice President for Guild Mortgage Company, a privately
owned mortgage banking company. Lisa oversees the Compliance Management Division at Guild and is
responsible for the company’s fair lending, compliance, internal audit, quality assurance, and legal matters. Lisa
manages state and federal regulatory agency filings, licensing, consumer complaints, and regulatory inquiries
and audits, and she analyzes regulatory changes and risk to assess impact to the company. She directs policy
and operational changes, including the design of proprietary LOS controls, to ensure compliance requirements,
such as the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID) rule. She graduated from the MBA’s Future Leaders
Program in 2007 and the California MBA’s Future Leaders Program in 2009. Lisa served as Chairperson of the
MBA’s Regulatory Compliance Sub-Committee from 2010 to 2013. She the serves on the Mortgage Compliance
Magazine “Ask the Experts” panel. Lisa holds a B.S. from Oregon State University and is working towards a M.S.
in Executive Leadership at the University of San Diego.
